The introduction of the Mark 5 signaled Sasol’s entry into a comprehensive redesign and rebranding of their standard filling station. Drawing inspiration from the flowing lines and distinctive shapes of the Sasol Head Office building, the design proposal sought to integrate these architectural elements into the filling station’s aesthetic.

A standout feature of the redesign is the dual canopy, serving as a reimagination of the conventional canopy typology. This innovative design not only redefines the canopy but also articulates the newly designed pump stations and store entrance, creating a cohesive and visually engaging space.

In alignment with contemporary sustainability practices, the design introduced several eco-friendly elements to the filling station. This includes the integration of PV panels for renewable energy, provision of electric car charging bays, and collaboration with brands such as Pudo and Krispy Kreme to enhance accessibility and promote environmental consciousness. This comprehensive approach not only rejuvenates the visual identity of the filling station but also aligns it with modern trends in sustainability and convenience.
