The Original Fleurenville Retirement Home was in an old building situated in Arcadia, Pretoria, The owners wanted to redevelop the existing building and relocate the Fleurenville Retirement Home. A new site was identified and the size of the site allowed for designing additional rooms to be sold and let to new residents, in addition to the existing occupants who were given the option to relocate. The design was driven by providing  more efficient facilities for Retirement care as well as other specialist divisions like Frail Care and a Dementia ward. In terms of the Architecture the client opted for a design inspired by natural materials and the countryside in order to create a sense of home to the living environment. The adjacent site has also been purchased by the developer and Fleurenville Phase 2 is already in the sketch design phase.
